Dean Clancy was named executive director of the President’s Council on Bioethics in December 2001.
He was a White House staff writer in the Reagan and first Bush Administrations. Served as a speechwriter for HUD Secretary Jack Kemp. Dean was a senior policy adviser to House Majority Leader Dick Armey.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown and a master’s in journalism from Columbia.
He is a Lincoln Fellow with the Claremont Institute for the Study of Statesmanship and Political Philosophy.
He is married with four children.
